The Post Office Bar & Restaurant

Our accommodation was not ready when we arrived on our recent trip so we headed to Ocean Street for lunch.Looking for something different from airline food, we noticed this place offered Caesar Salad for lunch so this is what we ordered. Although it is a bar we were able to order an Iced Coffee and a Chocolate Milkshake. Our salads were fine but certainly not exceptional and the poached eggs on top were absolutely hard rather than soft.The place was fairly busy and the service friendly. It met our needs on this particular day, but we would not rush back.

The first time my wife and I had had dinner at The Post Office was a pleasant experience. We found the staff attentive and friendly, the food portion was generous and very tasty. There is no table service as all purchases have to been done at the bar, this was not a hassle as we ran a tab which made our purchases much quicker. The atmosphere was good and they had live music at the rear garden bar which did not interfere with the music in the main bar area. We will be back for dinner again.

If you are looking for an average pub meal for lunch, this is your place. It was pleasant, but nothing to rave about. Won't be going back in a hurry.

We had the lunchtime special which was tasty but only a snack size portion. We ordered extra chips..large bowl $8 noodle bowl size. The food was excellent but we went away still hungry. Service was pretty slack. The girls seemed to chat more than organising our ectra sauce and drinks. I had to go back teice to get these. Nice atmosphere but i wouldn't hurry back. Expensive for what was served. $55+for a snack is not good value.

Food was good, and kid's menu with drawings and crayons to keep the little one's fingers busy when not eating. We enjoyed our visit here but have to say the food is a little on the more expensive side and not too much of a variety. Staff were very friendly and helpful and I would come back again but wouldn't call this eating on a budget.
