It 's not that they are horrible, it 's just that they seem to lack a common guest first approach to service and they seem to struggle to get their act together. The room. When we first checked into our room in their Guesthouse, we had to walk through a corridor that was being painted. The fumes in the room were so overpowering, that I requested a move. They graciously accommodated, but the owner acknowledged that if he had thought to check his reservations, he would not have scheduled any painting at all. And, when I pulled out the sofa to make the bed, I found a ton of trash underneath. The restaurant. When we checked in, I asked if we needed reservations at the restaurant. I was assured we did not as things were slow that night. I noticed that written on the door, the restaurant hours were from 5 9. When we showed up at 8:20, I was told that the kitchen was closed. When I reminded them of what was written on the door, the response was that it was for the restaurant, but the kitchen closed at 8. I asked the receptionist to call the owner. No luck. I reminded her that I was a guest at the hotel and that I had mentioned that I wanted to eat at the restaurant when we checked in. Shoutly match ensued and we were turned away.A few ways I feel they could have handled it better:1 When I asked about dinner reservations, they could had made sure I knew that the kitchen closed at 8pm.2 When we didn 't show up, someone could have said , Hey, you know that old couple staying in the Guesthouse? They said they wanted to eat dinner tonight. Should I go and knock on their door to see if they still want to eat here? 3 When we showed up at 8:20, clearly not understanding that we knew to come by 8, they could have said, Hey, sorry about the communication disconnect. How about this: We 'll throw a couple of steaks on the grill and fix a small salad and you two can take it back to your room to eat. Can this work? Instead it is the condescending, so sad dad.BTW, We ended up eating at Los Aztecas Restaurant. We came in at 8:50 (they were closing at 9) and they couldn 't have been nicer! We were the only people there, but they served us, the food was great and I left a big tip!)In summary: I really expect graciousness and the guest 's satisfaction is most important attitude at any hotel I frequent. The forgetting to check before painting, the lack of thorough cleaning and the poor treatment at the restaurant, really makes it hard for me to recommend this hotel.
Rooms were spacious and beautifully decorated. The Pea Ridge room had a luxurious soaker tub!
During a weekend visit to Buena Vista Ga, I had the pleasure of having supper at the Town House Restaurant and then came back for seconds. It's a beautiful Inn that runs over with southern hospitality and cuisine. The seafood buffet was incredible and more than reasonably priced for the quality and selection. You can feel the warmth, love and attention to details in making people feel at home and cared for. Wear your stretchy pants!
Had the roast beef with mashed potatoes green been and waffle cornbread. The roast beef was tough, but everything else was great.Parking: Parking is in the front of the building against the curb. It is not marked on either side of the road.
You will find no better southern buffet dining, for miles, to top this quality atmosphere, for a reasonable price. Servers Carol Kaitlyn provide superb, personal, friendly service. Clay Snider, owner, oversees every detail. My husband I, have dined every Friday, for a few months, now, unable to resist the fried catfish. You will not be disappointed!
