Cafe Cultural Aleph - Buenos Aires

We were hungry and decided to have a beer and some empanadas. Aleph's price was right, plus you could sit above the hustle and bustle of the street and people watch. The restaurant has six tables that are on a patio above the street plus...another six inside. The latter are a premium because you sit above the action. We were there twice, two weeks apart. The first was on a Saturday and the second on a Sunday before a Boca Juniors game. On both days the crowds were big and the atmosphere was truly festive. The Quilmes (Buenos Aires's Budweiser) and empamadas filled the bill and the price of entertainment was perfect. Nothing. We met the restaurant owners husband, Guillermo, who sits at the base of the patio painting scenes of La Boca. He traveled the world as a proponent of the tango. It is worth meeting him and purchasing a postcard or two of his paintings. He asked us to write our names, which he then turned into a caricature of two tango dancers. Just a nice place to spend an afternoon after strolling La Boca. I gave this restaurant an excellent not for the food/service but for the atmosphere, ambiance and Guillermo.

Got a little hungry while walking around La Boca. Saw a couple of tables on a level above the main street and decided to get a light snack and beer. The empanadas were good, but nothing fancy or served with any great sauces. Took care...of our immediate needs.

This is a great place if you want quick bite to eat and not get ripped off like empanada or Choripán (famous délicieuse sausage sandwich) beer and or just have coffee etc, not expensive and is right in the heart of Boca. Sit...on table outdoors to watch people go by, tango dancers and just the excitement If the place

Boca is all a bit predictable and too focussed on hoovering money out of tourists, but this little café felt different. A nice haven from the heat, and very relaxed, pleasant and cheap. Worth a stop.

Restaurant looks quite nice and is located in the middle of Caminito. However, food is extremely basic, really nothing special. It is pure nutrition and lacks they obviously do not aspire to serve anything tasty. In this touristic place it is quite difficult to find...anything decent in general.
