Cafe Del Mercado - Buenos Aires

I ate here. it is in the middle of the san Telmo market and is one of the many food stands. the day was a burger with speck and cheese. it was pretty average. Maybe we should have guessed because it wasn't busy and the others were. it filled a hole, but it was a mistake and we should have pressed ourselves somewhere else. it looks like a few other reviews from another place. I have a photo that shows the same image as the travel advisor entry.

We went around the city of ba for five hours with views of the various tourist attractions and ended in caminito. after that we caught a bus to plaza del mayo. on the way back to our hotel the carles, we held in cafe del...Mercado for a beer and snack. we both enjoyed this busy place with a lot of atmosphere. a good watering hole with a lot of choice eating wisely.

This caffe is located directly on the flohmarkt. you can shop, eat, drink and buy again. friendly service, and I had a great class of Argentine wine!

Such a typical BA area. Here the locals come daily for their food and to eat a bite.

We visited this cafe twice. The first time we tried their pizza and empanadas. Well, they have not perfected the art of making pizza. Hard cooked pizza dough. Not good. Their empanadas were bake and not fried and the pastry was flaky and the beef...filling tasty. Good. Ham filled empanadas tasted like they were filled sliced deli ham. Not so good. But here is their strong suit and this I am sure few will find fault with. Stopped by again and had the one of the plates of the day Platos del Dia) Escalopes De Pescado con salsa verde y papas cunas with a beer for 80 pesos. We did not sample every thing they had to offer but the above get my unqualified seal of approval. It was a generous filet of fried fish that was cooked to perfection. Though this is listed as a Cafe and Bar, it has sit down service and personnel who are helpful and prompt. When I am in BsAr again I will remember this place fondly and go there again for this fish dish if for nothing else. I am giving it an excellent just for this fish dish alone and maybe the beef empanadas. Of course, I will end by saying again think fish.
