My spouse ordered a Milanesa. It was very thin, dry and overcooked. The potatoes were watery and with little taste. Buenos Aires is known for its Milanesen. But we didn't expect that. They offer several vegetarian options for the restaurant. However, these were prefabricated veggie burgers that contain ingredients I am allergic to. I did not order anything and went instead to the nearby excellent Buenos Aires Verde vegetarian restaurant..
On my 3 trips to BA I had noticed this restaurant and in my last night decided to go. The menu looked interesting and we both ordered medium-sized Milanese. When they came, they are large, but extremely thin meat slices in a thicker bread crust. I thought it was okay, but my wife wasn't so impressed. It would have been nice to have a thicker steak if you had the amount of “crust”. The potatoes were very good. The white wine was good. The staff was OK! I wouldn't go back.
Perhaps we would not have ordered the Menú del día, but the portions were extremely small, the pack was pure salad, and the service was not existent. I wanted to impress a few American friends with the Milanesa, but I was rather embarrassed by the food. On the positive side, the decor of this place is very trendy and cool. Hopefully they improve their quality of their food.
We wanted to try Milanesa while in Buenos Aires so we stopped here based on our hotel’s recommendation. My husband and I shared the Milanesa de la casa (mozzarella, jamon, tomato, egg) and the Milanesa Explosiva (cheddar, caramelized onion, fried egg). I preferred the second one where the egg was perfectly cooked and the yolk oozed out over the chicken making it a bit less dry and really complemented the richness of the caramelized onions. Both were reminiscent of my mother’s chicken cutlets growing up, which I always enjoyed as a child. There is outdoor seating, which is a great place to sit, eat and people watch in Palermo. Overall, I would say this was a good meal, but not a great meal.
