The exact opposite. The waiters that attended to our table were very friendly and in fact as it was my birthday encouraged the whole restaurant to participate in a song to my honor. Totally recomendable. The food is awesomely delicious. Must return soon.
Overrated. Based on our experience this place is living on past laurels. I agree with all Dani from Sydney, Australia said, though I think she is being charitable to give them three stars. We did, however, have a good bottle of wine that was part of a promotion. Regrettably nothing else measured up. If you are planning on an Argentinian steak dinner, do yourself a favor and look elsewhere.
Given the many great reviews & countless recommendations we were given for this place we had high expectations & were sadly disappointed which I would blame highly on our waiter Daniel L. rather than the food although this also wasn't to the standard we were expecting. We found the waiter Daniel L. to be quite arrogant, he didn't take any time to go through the menu & recommend things going off what we mentioned we liked (this was something we witnessed other waiters doing for their guests), he pretty much threw our plates of food down and rushed off elsewhere, his terrible manner and arrogance really let this place down for us. The food was ok, for the price we expected a lot more & certainly didn't receive the incredible perfectly cooked Argentinian steak we were hoping for, we have had much better back home. But the wine was good!We were also unimpressed with having to pay a charge just to dine in the restaurant and on top of that pay a tip for our waiters useless service!I feel this place has become so touristy that they no longer have a high regard for customer satisfaction as they know they'll be getting business no matter what.If you're in Buenos Aires for a short time & are looking to splurge on one meal, ask around more, check some other reviews and go somewhere different, you'll probably have a much better experience!
Although this time we arrived at La cabrera really late at night, after a theatre play, the service was as diligent and proffesional as ever, the meats were in the exact cooking point eachone of us had ordered it, the sauces that accompany the serves for free are a real delight, which is very rare in any other parrilla / barbecue . The Ojo de Bife and the Bife de chorizo were superb. And we ordered Proveleta ( cheese ) and chinchulines ( tripe ) the latter of which were probably some of the best I have ever had.!! A serve of all choices of icecream for dessert proved to be delicious.
We have been going to La Cabrera for years and it is always delicious! Just don't over order. The pepper steak is easily enough food for 3 to 4 people. Chorizo and Smoked Provolone are both great. For dessert we always have the crepe with dulce de leche! Fantastic! Enjoy!
