This ice shop was very popular. The price was not expensive. However, the texture of the ice was too soft and too quickly melted. We did not like Sambayon taste or chocolate taste, but the dulce de leche taste was good.
We called in here for dessert after eating a large meat centred lunch at La Brigada, less than 50 metres away in the same street. A rustic sort of place that doesn’t look as though it has been refurbished since Nonna was a young lady but it was how good the gelato tasted that was important. We bought our ticket from a lady who looked like Nonna Bianca and were served by a lad who looked as if it could be her grandson. It certainly looked as if it was a family business and that the gelato was made on the premises. You had to make a choice from the flavours listed on the board as all the gelato was hidden from sight in containers with aluminium lids. This also made the service a little slower as there was a series of lifting different lids to find the right gelato. Not an issue for us as we were the only ones there but wouldn’t have wanted it to be busy. We had 3 flavours each in an edible waffle type cup container including mint, vanilla, chocolate, dulce de leche and coffee. All of the flavours were very good.
Tried Mate first time here. 100 pesos including a bag tea, mate cup and straw, hot water, etc. Friendly boy without English. One of customer volunteered to help me how to make Mate properly. All body language but I could feel very warm!
We went there to have a authentic breakfast in Buenos Aires. Nice breakfast, very friendly service. After the breakfast we wanted an ice-cream. Smallest portion was a 250gr box of very tasty ice-cream.
