If your ever in the Burlington mall and want some very tasty food, I recommend Cultures.
I have to agree with the other person who wrote a review on this food counter. While the prices aren't bad and the descriptions of the menu items and accompanying pictures look promising, the actual food itself is very disappointing. I ordered the California bowl. It's supposed to have generous helpings of tomatoes and avocados according to the picture but arrived with maybe a third of a winter tomato you know, the pink ones that are hard and tastless) and maybe a quarter of a small avocado. The egg looked like a small egg not your normal every day large egg that most people buy. The dressing was more like a super spicy mayonnaise based aoli. The brown rice was bland, and probably cooked a few days ago then reheated. I should have gotten sushi at the sushi place at this food court. Very disappointing. If the manager here took pride in the food they serve and was more particular about the quality of the ingredients this could be a nice healthy choice for lunch. Until then, best to avoid eating here.
I usually don 't bother writing reviews of chains in food courts but this is barely a chain anymore since it 's one of the few I 've seen since the 90 's. I was in the area of Burlington Mall and stopped in for a bite. First of all this food court blows. I know it 's Burlington and hardly a cultural capital but seriously the options couldn 't be anymore bland. I am far from a health freak but you won 't find food here that isn 't processed, fried or a white bread carb fest. So that 's where Cultures comes in I guess. I go for a Niçoise salad hoping it will be like the Aroma Special at Aroma Espresso Bar in countless better malls. Wrong. The olives are the canned sliced variety, the tuna a mayo infused scoop that tastes off, and they were out of spring mix so I got romaine instead. I Honestly they may have raided the Subway garbage bin. The poppyseed dressing was so gelatinous and grey that after one look I asked for the slightly less vomit inducing gelatinous brown sesame dressing. No wonder this chain is no where to found now days. Should have got a Teen burger at A+W.
Bought a 9$ 3 salad combo on Monday. I ordered it to go and when I tried to eat the salad I noticed the cucumber salad was rotten. Disgusting. The bean salad and edamame salad were flavourless. After one bite I threw it away. Terrible. If you eat here, make sure the food is not rotten before you buy it.
