Famous Joes - Buford

Went by this place on Saturday 8/31/24 and it was closed with no signage and a large dumpster outside. They moved or went out of business.

I come in every Sunday and the service is amazing! Friendly waitresses and bartenders, and the food is always great!

It took a long time for the food to get to the table.

Our waitress was doing her best but was left to handle a table of 20 alone with no support. The food was okay, the alcoholic drinks weren’t good at all…it felt more like a tall glass of liquor and then a spritz of the drink mix. Two stars because that waitress was hustling, we made sure to leave her a large tip. They left her unprepared, though kitchen staff was attentive when they came to serving our food so that also goes to the additional star on service.

I went by this location where I've been before to order a burger and fry for my son I called the establishment four times prior no one picked up so I went in. As I pulled up one of the waitresses was outside talking to a client laughing and giggling while there was literally no one inside at the bar helping. To make matters worse when I actually walked in there was literally no one up front and I was ushered in to the bar by another worker who was obviously busy. When the waitress finally came in I said hey I've been trying to call for about four tries and I haven't gotten anybody she asked me did I want her to take my order and I said it didn't matter cuz it was going to be a to-go order. She literally told me Don't get testy. Like who trains their waitresses to be like that that is terrible customer service no one is getting testy I'm just trying to place an order I've been waiting and I want a place the order. She then proceeds to talk to two other customers who are waiting after me and get their order by this time the guy who first ushered me and walks around the corner and he's like is she getting your order I said that's what she said and then again I was left. All the while the two gentlemen that came in after me were getting helped. Now in this establishment at the time that I came in they were all Caucasian customers and of course the staff that I saw was Caucasian the waitress was Caucasian I am the only black male in the establishment. I don't want to say what it seems like but hey if the shoe fits. I don't know if they're realized but Gwinnett is no longer just one race of people they're all types of people here and if you're going to be in the food industry you should have learned how to talk to and treat all types just saying. Spend your money here if you want to I won't.
