I absolutely love this place! From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with a warm, welcoming smile from Yajaira, who plays a huge role in creating the friendly and comfortable atmosphere. The food is outstanding, thanks to the hard work and professionalism of Angie and Lupila. With great prices and exceptional dishes, this restaurant is definitely RAMBO’S CHOICE for Mexican cuisine! If you're looking to visit Avelar's, here are some directions: as you head toward the river on Hancock, it will be on your right, just past Tractor Supply, at the end of the next plaza. If you see Tacos El Zamy on your left, you’ve gone a bit too far, so make a U-turn, and you’ll find Avelar’s on your left. There's only one person working at the front, which can slow down your dining experience. They often run out of ice unless you arrive early, and the soda machine has been out of order for quite some time. However, the food is excellent, and the woman at the front is wonderful and funny. I believe having two people at the front would help improve the service.

Price was good. There was too much fat on the carne asada meat for my personal taste. Flavor was good though. Chicken taco was pretty bland.

Lupes chicken enchiladas are great. Good size serving. Price is fair. Good service from homegirl upfront. Definitely worth a pit stop during family laughlin trips.. just a heads up it is a whole in the wall small restaurant not fancy but very Mexican authentic style food.
