When I entered the restaurant side, I realized it was a place where you order at the bar, take a number, and your food will be brought to your table by servers/food runners. There were no waitresses. Unfortunately, the bartender's lack of knowledge about basic cocktails left me unimpressed. The limited drink menu, which included a questionable drink called the Pornstar Martini, did not help either. I ended up just ordering a beer. The food menu was equally confusing, with phrases like "Italian Korean fusion" that made no sense to me. Despite my reservations, I decided to try the arancini balls, which were panko-fried cheesy rice balls topped with kimchi and mayo. They were overwhelming. The roast lamb I ordered was dry, tough to chew, and covered in a too-sweet gravy with unappetizing mint garnishes. Overall, my experience was not great, and I doubt I will return for anything other than a cold beer.
The restaurant's colonial-style architecture with a wrap-around verandah is just the beginning of its charm. Upon entering, guests are greeted with a beautiful interior that seamlessly continues the classic style of the building. Potted plants add a touch of greenery to the front bar, which offers a selection of beers on tap and in bottles. The menu includes all the usual favorites, with even more choices available in the sit-down dining area. I opted for the sirloin steak and was impressed by its quality; each bite seemed to taste better than the last. The accompanying chips were crispy, and the salad was fresh. The staff was friendly, and the prices were reasonable.
The restaurant has a charming atmosphere and offers a wide selection of local and imported beers. However, I recommend having a strong drink to help stomach the greasy meal I ordered at the counter. This establishment is located in a historic hotel from the 1890's, and the menu reflects its age. I suggest stopping in for a pint or two, but consider dining at one of the other restaurants nearby. Overall, I would rate this restaurant a D.
I’ve ordered buffalo wings and add extra 1$for spicy sauce. That was amazing! Really spicy! I enjoyed so much. Parmigiana was average. Stake sandwich was dry. Not juicy at all. I don’t recommend it. Tap beer was fresh. And cocktails was good. The whole restaurant is good atmosphere. Even toilet is nice and clean. Will eat again next time!
I went to this restaurant with my daughter on Tuesday and we had a fantastic lunch. We ordered several appetizers and they were all delicious. The portions were large, the food was tasty, and the prices were reasonable. We had plenty of leftovers to take home. This is now my favorite place to eat in Bunbury.
