The restaurant was occupied by several young men, and they were cordial (even if they spoke very little English). They served us efficiently and wished us well. The building is very traditional Swiss chalet style, and we sat on the outside deck. The view (from peaks and snow fields) was beautiful and it was very peaceful. Inside the decor was very warm and welcoming (dark wood, many traditional items). Everything was clean, tidy and well maintained. This must be a popular location in the ski/snowboard season. A small gondola lift ends directly in the restaurant building itself. It seems as if almost everyone visiting this restaurant arrives on foot (in summer) or via gondola, ski or snowboard (in winter).
We stayed here in the late morning for drinks while we hiked the Schachentaler Hochweg. The restaurant is located directly on the route. We were cordially met by several young men who supervised the institution. You only spoke a few words English. The building is very traditional and old, but attractive and well maintained. We sat outside, with magnificent views of the mountains. Very peaceful and relaxing. Everything was clean, neat and well maintained.
We stopped here in late morning for drinks while hiking the Schachentaler high trail. The restaurant is located right on the trail. We were cordially met by several young men who staffed the facility. One spoke just a few words of English. The building is very traditional and old, but attractive and well kept. We sat outside, with outstanding views of the mountains. Very peaceful and restful there. Everything was clean, neat and well kept.
