While there are many solid dishes, we’ve occasionally encountered a few that seemed off (perhaps spoiled?). It always feels overpriced for what you receive. Unfortunately, during our most recent visit, the server was quite rude to our kids, chastising them for giggling at a volume similar to that of other diners' conversations. (Trust me, my kids have had tantrums before—this was not one of those instances.) On this visit, the lobster tempura, which had been fine before, was not up to par. We mentioned that it smelled like ammonia, which often indicates spoilage, but the staff simply refried it. Considering this restaurant charges $165 for an omakase experience that tastes noticeably worse than what you can find at comparable sushi places in San Mateo, I expect better quality and service.
The sushi was quite good, but it didn’t really justify the steep price. Two miso soups and 14 pieces of sushi cost $60, and we still left feeling hungry.
This is my and my husband’s favorite sushi restaurant! This is a must visit restaurant when friends or family visit. This is a restaurant recognized by everyone! It's a little pricey (but not terribly expensive , but it's really worth it I really recommend this place! In particular, salmon belly and eel sushi melt as soon as you put them in your mouth. Be sure to order it haha. The place itself is small, but the sushi quality is so good that we go often haha. This is my go to sushi place in the bay area! I really recommend this place because once you put the sushi into your mouth.. it melts. Especially I recommend unagi(eel sushi and salmon belly sushi! The price is a little bit high, but reasonable price because it is definitely worth it. Also all the employees are so kind and nice here :
I ordered set B and 4 pieces of tempura shrimp! The sushi set was very tasty and full of flavor as it is. I hope to visit again!
Some of the best sushi I’ve had! We shared a sushi plate and a sashimi plate, as well as tempura shrimp heads and fried fish. The black sesame crème brûlée was an incredible way to finish the meal. Everything was delicious, fresh, and presented beautifully.
