Bent River Brewing Company - Burlington

They have new owners and completely changed the menu, now it stinks! We won't go there again!

We had the most horrendous experience at Bent River on New Years Eve. We had a large party that evening. My friend had made a reservation earlier in the week. Our waiter was lovely, but we could tell he was completely overwhelmed. He had no support or help from the owners of the business. After waiting an hour or so, we were told that the restaurant had run out of most of the dinner options so we could re-order and take our chances waiting. After about 2 hrs, we realized we weren't going to receive our meals. When finally confronted, the new chef/owner who spent the majority of the evening visiting with friends at other tables) was combative, out of control, and definitely unapologetic. He blamed our party for not just ordering appetizers, as he was under the impression that we had planned on doing. He was threatening and hostile. He ended up kicking my friend out of the restaurant. He then continued to follow her out, yelling at her the entire time. Finally, the other co-owner stepped in. I've never experienced such unprofessional and irratic behavior from a business owner in my hometown. I certainly dont mind waiting for meals. I know the service industries have been devastated by staff shortages and high product costs. That all can be fogiven. What I can not forgive is behavior like what we experienced. I wish I could give them zero stars, but unfortunately thats not an option. We will absolutely never be back.

Oh dear Lord ... I hate giving horrible reviews but feel this definitely deserves a post as well as a warning to anyone going to Bent River. One of the worst burgers I've quite honestly ever had. Burned to a crisp and practically unedible. How can you serve this with a straight face? Not shown in photos was the buffalo chicken salad which had absolutely no buffalo flavor but just regular chicken in a salad. Service was passable but not great. Second time eating at Bent River and definitely the last. I would be embarrassed to serve food like this.

Given this place so many tries...go in wirh an open mind...its just not there. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 3
