Was out and about and wanted to eat something different. The place is small but clean. The service was quick and pleasant. Our food was good and not priced too bad. We had a lot of food left over...which is a plus!
I was so frustrated that I was ready to walk out! They were out of first two items I asked about, I waited probably 10 minutes to have an order taken, and literally 45 minutes for the food to arrive in a nearly empty restaurant! I even had to go up to get my own silverware! But then the waters parted and the Colombian Cravings set in! First, the homemade Chorizo Sausage was delivered to a resounding approval! It's simply a great effort! Then the Holy Grail of Colombian dishes came and didn't disappoint! Bistec a Caballo, grilled skirt steak in a creole sauce with peppers and onions. The creole sauce was amazing, the steak was tender enough to cut with a fork, and the accompanying white rice and red beans just gave the finishing touches to a wonderful experience! I'll admit that I would go back, but despite the fantastic food, I wouldn't hang around again to go through the long incompetent wait.
Absolutely amazing food!!!! Was in Burlington for a workshop and saw this place on my way in. Of course I looked it up on Yelp and saw it had a perfect 5-star rating. I vowed that I would try them out on the way home if I wasn't full from the workshop. Thankfully the workshop gave a light lunch 3 hours prior. Lol. I headed straight there Came in and this place felt so beautifully Colombian. Bright colors, salsa playing and warm faces to greet you. I sat down and browsed the menu and decided on the agua de maracuya (passion fruit water) to drink and the churrasco (grilled steak) with tostones (fried green plantains and a mix of arroz con habichuelas (rice and beans). The agua de maracuya came out first (of course) and it was beyond perfect. Fresh with just he right amount of pulp, tartness and sweetness. Not too long afterward, my food was delivered. The steak was perfectly seasoned and cooked and enhanced by the chimichurri The rice and beans were amazing and the tostones were perfectly fried. I was so full I had to take home half of my steak which was just as good leftover with a bit of aguacate. All of this was topped off by a delicious complementary tinta and even a visit by the owner. I will definitely eat here whenever I'm in the area and may consider traveling 85 more just to eat here. Awesome!!
The food in this place is just DELICIOUS: Bandeja Paisa: pork cracklings, grilled beef, homemade red sausage, white rice with fried egg, sweet plantains, white corn cake (Arepa). Picada Colombiana: assorted of red and black sausages, pork crackling, creole potatoes, fried green plantains, white corn cake (Arepa). These two dishes above mentioned are just AWESOME. Be ready to wait from 30 to 60 Minutes since these dishes are very FRESH. Portions are big!!!
