I have visited this restaurant two times. I enjoyed the lunch as the food was delicious, but my breakfast experience was disappointing.
Ricky's, a western Canadian chain, has expanded eastward alongside popular restaurants like Earls, Joey, and Cactus Club.
The good:* Our server was very friendly * We got a comfy booth near the back The BAD:* Overlit ambiance * They were out of stock on MOST wines they "offer" and said Kim Crawford is no longer available in Ontario. Wrong! It's widely available. In fact, the LCBO was a two minute drive from there and they have tons!* they claimed to be closed at 8:50 pm when a table tried to come in, but also claim to be a lounge with bar food* flies of all sizes everywhere swarming us as we sat * sub-par food, bony undercooked sweet potato fries - a tiny offering for $7* no adjustment made to bill even though server was mortified by their failings * a manager who stroked his belly while watching tv and did nothing helpful and did not greet tables In conclusion it feels like they are desperately trying to go bankrupt and dragging the poor server along for the awkward ride
Food was ok; service was good. It's not a fancy place but not supposed to be. Lots to choose from on the menu. I had fish & chips - they were a bit greasy but overall not too bad.
