Turtle Jack's Appleby - Burlington

Overall, this is a fantastic restaurant. We were seated quickly, and our server arrived shortly after we sat down. The food was delicious, served promptly, and hot when it reached our table. I ordered the chicken fajita wrap, which was excellent. Unlike other locations, this one didn’t serve it with sour cream, but that didn't bother us as we were enjoying time with friends. However, it felt like our server was missing in action for quite a while, as she didn’t check in on us for drink refills or ask how everything was a few minutes after our food arrived. We really didn’t see her again until we had almost finished our meal. She was very friendly and cheerful, so I think it was more a matter of circumstance. There didn't seem to be any other servers around, so I suspect she was managing both the patio and dining room on her own and was just a bit overwhelmed. The atmosphere is lovely— the decor is fresh and tasteful, creating a cozy yet airy ambiance. It’s a great place for families with kids.

I visited last night, and while the friendly, professional staff and pleasant atmosphere were commendable, I still found it hard to justify spending $102 for just 40 chicken wings, and that didn't even include taxes and tips. It's a nice venue, so if you're okay with paying steep prices for pub food, this could be the place for you!

I’m not sure where to begin with this review. We were really excited about this restaurant because of all the great reviews, but unfortunately, our experience was very disappointing. We ordered breaded wings and fajitas, but the wings that were brought to us were not breaded at all. When we brought this up, they insisted they were breaded and even lied to us! It wasn’t until the manager and chef came over that they admitted the wings weren’t actually breaded. We spent about 20 minutes going back and forth about the wings, plus an extra 15 minutes waiting for our food to arrive. Did they really think we’ve never had wings before? On top of that, the guacamole we got was old, and we paid $3 for it! This was a terrible experience, and we will not be coming back.

A couple of weeks ago, we had a late dinner at this restaurant. The food was delightful, and our waitress Zee was exceptional, making us feel very welcome. Despite experiencing intermittent power outages, the service remained excellent. I highly recommend this place!

While my experience wasn’t ideal, I would consider returning because of Jesse’s efforts. He was kind, attentive, and ensured that we left satisfied. Be sure to show Jesse some appreciation!
