Cactus Club Cafe - Burnaby

I have nothing but positive things to say about this restaurant. The staff is wonderful and the food is incredible. However, there were two disappointing aspects that left a bitter taste in my mouth - quite literally. The grilled Hunter's chicken had an overpowering coal taste, and the spiced frits that came with my steak frite were not as enjoyable as expected. Despite these issues, I would still rate the ambience, staff, and service a perfect 10/10. The food would have also received a high score, but I had to lower it to a 7/10 due to the inconsistencies. Would I return? Absolutely, it's your turn to try it out!

To begin with, I need to mention that the issue is not with the service but rather the quality of the food at this restaurant. My spouse and I have been regulars at the Cactus Club for quite some time and initially, the food was great. However, over the past 5 years, every visit has left us disappointed and dissuaded from returning. After taking a break for a year, we decided to give it another try only to be reminded of why we had stayed away for so long. This time, we have finally made the decision not to return. My wife ordered a burger and found the meat to be incredibly tender. I opted for a chicken burger, but the chicken was thin and the fries were all small scraps from the bottom of the tray.

I chose this place for a family meeting, as it has a reputation for decent food and advertises a terrace. This 'terrace' is a madman. It is simply a light space with high ceilings surrounded by closed windows that apparently do not open. I don't... eat now in interiors Kovid cases rise and vaccines passports are no longer and felt stuck like I didn't feel that I could go after I haven't seen my family for 10 years. Needless to say, I did not enjoy my food under the circumstances. I'm not gonna eat there again. At least The White Spot has a real terrace, although it's menu is not so interesting. A very unhappy experience around.

The service was Mittelstraße, and the information for the wine list was very bad. Wine lists should always be available and staff should always be available at this time with disposable paper menu. This should not be a brainer if you charge $20 for a house wine.

Came here last night for a birthday and engagement celebration for 2 of my girlfrends. We made a reservation and were thankful we did because it was busy for a Tuesday. We were served by Rhoda and her server in training. The service was great...at first but as the night progressed we barely were served. We started at 7 and didn't leave till almost 9:45pm, we only had 1 round of drinks and 1 round of shots and shared appies because we didn't feel like ordering anything else as we noticed how long the wait for everything has been. Our table was piling up with dirty dishes, empty drinks, empty water cups. Our server never came to fill it up, barely checked on us. We actually had to find her to ask for desserts for our 2 celebratory friends cause we were just sitting there for so long with a dirty table waiting for service. By the time we finished our desserts, we were all so thirsty a nobody has filled our waters since we first got there. For the prices, we expected better service. Little disappointed having to leave annoyed when it should have been a fun night.
