Fondway Cafe - Burnaby

Nice little cafe across from the Skytrain station at Metrotown. We had the sandwich of the day, a croissant sandwich with turkey, tomato, cheese, cucumber and apple. Pretty tasty, served warm. Clam chowder was nice too. We got the combo for $15CAD which included the soup and an americano coffee. Chairs are not too comfortable but high ceilings and good light. Nice spot.

Stopped in last evening because I wanted a croissant and a hot drink and they did not disappoint. If fact, they whet my appetite to come back and try more things, which I will promptly. The croissant (sweet cheese with pumpkin seeds - delish)! was warmed for me without me asking. The green tea was Japanese and high quality loose leaf. Bonus! I saw a friend there I hadn't seen in a long time and we caught up. It's a happening spot. Fondway is bringing in some new concepts for drinks that I've never seen before (and I've seen a lot)! from Asia I guess. I'm going to try this one drink like yuengyueng or something that is made with (this sounds gross but it's all in the preparation and the photo looked amazing) green tea, iced coffee, mint and boba or something like that. The different components are seperated from each other, one on top, one below, inside the glass. Like I said the photo looked like a must-try. It might bomb, who knows. This place is awesome. I wished I lived closer.

Great healthy food options, boutique styled setting, and selected coffee. Good desserts too! Make a quick stop if you happen to be near Metrotown station!

It was so nice to get a very contemporary breakfast at the Fondway Cafe, it was well priced and the coffee was excellent.
