Lone Star Tortilla Co. - Burnaby

I really wish you would bring back the Tree Hugger Burrito! I appreciate the option to customize a burrito without meat and dairy, but it's frustrating that it costs the same as a meat burrito. Plus, charging extra for guacamole feels a bit much. I'm happy you're back in business, but I'm not too excited about paying $15 for just a salad and beans in a wrap. You can do better!

We dined on the patio with a lovely view of the waterfront. The steak fajitas were delicious, and the margaritas were outstanding. The restaurant itself is housed in a charming old brick firehouse.

This restaurant is a hidden gem located within one of SFU's cafeterias. I really hope it reopens soon! I challenge anyone to try their El Jefe burrito and not fall in love with it. The beef is bursting with flavor, the guacamole is fresh, and the tortilla is perfectly soft and chewy. It’s far superior to Chipotle or any other chain you can think of. I find myself craving this place every time I think about burritos. Even though I'm no longer a student here, I would gladly drive out just to eat at this restaurant any night. The management has always been fantastic. I can't wait for this amazing fast-food spot to come back!

As for seating, I can almost never get a decent table, even when I call ahead and request one. I always end up right next to the kitchen. If you enjoy Lone Star cuisine, you won’t be let down; the food is exactly what you expect and it’s good. However, the takeout service and seating arrangements definitely need improvement, regardless of the pandemic situation.

I found it appalling that diners like us, who have the means to enjoy a meal out, were subjected to age discrimination. I’ve been to other Lone Star restaurants and have never encountered anything like this. I strongly urge others to steer clear of this restaurant. If I could give it zero stars, I would, but I’m stuck giving it one star!
