The interior is cozy, with couches in the front and tables scattered around. There were also shelves of reading material, although I didn't check out the selection. The cook wasn't there when I arrived, so there was a bit of a wait for my order, but they had warned me about it beforehand. I opted for the Poke Bowl ($11 for medium), which was filled with salmon, tuna, imitation crab, cucumber, tobiko, seaweed, Tamago, avocado, Aonori, and Mayo, along with a Lychee Green Tea ($4.25). The drink had a subtle lychee flavor. While some reviews mentioned slow service, I found the food to be pretty decent, although the menu options were limited.
My family, friends, and I have visited this restaurant several times because it's conveniently close by. The staff are all very friendly. SQ is a cozy cafeteria-style spot with a variety of Asian and Western dishes. There are about 6 tables and 2 sofas, making it a great place to study or relax. They offer free Wifi. We started with their bubble teas, which were delicious - the raspberry banana and piña colada flavors were our favorites. The taro and coconut options were also tasty and lower in calories. The boba pearls were chewy and enjoyable. We also tried their teriyaki chicken and chicken curry dishes, both of which were flavorful. The California and dynamite rolls were good, as was the tempura. The portion sizes were okay, although the yam pieces were unevenly cut. Overall, a good spot for a quick and tasty Japanese meal. They also offer unique maki-inspired sandwiches. Note that you can request half-sweet bubble tea if you prefer less sugar, and ask for extra teriyaki sauce if you like it saucy. The menu is limited, but that means your order comes out quickly. They are available on JustEat.ca for delivery. Parking is usually not a problem, as there is a small lot with a couple of spaces. In conclusion, this is my go-to spot for a refreshing bubble tea and fast Japanese food.
I live close to this restaurant and whenever I'm in the mood for bubble tea, I can easily walk over. I appreciate the wide selection of flavors they offer.
I'll make this sweet and short because I was really hoping to find a good bubble tea and sushi place but Sushi Q Tea was a huge let down.
Always amazing bubble tea. Super friendly staff. Highly recommended! Sushi is very good as well. A must try is their Poke Bowl.
