When my family arrived and he immediately recognized them his demeanor changed significantly.
Was there to have dim sum brunch not too crowded. Average service and dim sum was alright. Dinner is more busy and the food was alright not fabulous but not terrible either.
This restaurant been in this location well over 20 years ,it is well run down ,but they still have the good old fashion style Dim Sum in a push car !and not expensive at all ,I am not recommend it for dinner ,but Dim Sum is great ,and parking is a big problem ,
I found that the dishes were large, tasty and their cook have proven to me that he was an accomplish and excellent cook! The restaurant was nicely decorated in the traditional Chinese style. They had an extensive take-out menu as well as some menus for patronage wanting to enjoy a sit down meals. There was a convenient ramp for people with a disability. This is where the good news ends! Truthfully, I cannot comment on their Dim Sum since I have never tried Dim Sum at this restaurant after I was told that it was a little pricier than similar restaurants offering the same items. Here is the bad news from my latest experience at this Cantonese upscale restaurant besides the slighter higher cost in comparison to other in and around Vancouver. The servers appear to be pre-occurred that they did not want to be there, as our table attempt to flag someone down on numerous occasions to get more Chinese tea, a few napkins, later the bill and a couple of boxes for the left-overs. The servers 'flew by' without noticing me waving and trying to get their attention! Normally, I do not comment on my bad experiences! However, I felt so strongly about the poor service that I must say something! Touché to the chef! His food was excellent!
My friend and I visited already several times “Yan’s Garden” for Dim Sum at lunch time. This Chinese restaurant is situated in Coquitlam, near Lougheed Skytrain Stn. Most of the offered dishes were good and tasty. The price for the pieces is in the average level. The service is ok too. We certainly won’t hesitate to go there again.
