The interior of the small restaurant was cluttered with plates and serving bowls, giving the impression of a rummage sale. We were informed that they were out of noodles and pineapple, limiting our menu options. The elderly gentleman serving us, who we later learned was Linda's husband, struggled to answer our questions about the menu. My wife ordered pork fried rice, which lacked flavor and variety. I opted for the Thai basil pork dish, which was surprisingly tasty. Service was slow as Linda's daughter was the only person in the kitchen. She had relocated from Portland to help her mother during her illness and was now managing the restaurant alone while also working a full-time job. In a Facebook post, she expressed the challenges of balancing the demands of the business and the grief of losing her mother. She mentioned struggling with customers placing takeout orders ahead of those dining in, as well as the pressure of keeping the business afloat until it could be sold. It is a difficult situation for the daughter and her father, and I can only hope that patrons show patience and compassion towards a grieving family trying to keep the restaurant running.
The food was delicious and the waiter was very friendly. The portions were large enough to feed two adults easily! I highly recommend this restaurant. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
While driving back south from Idaho, I searched for nearby restaurants on Yelp and came across a Thai place with mixed reviews. Despite the uncertainties, I decided to give it a shot. I called ahead as they were closing soon to order some yellow curry with chicken to go. Upon arrival in Burns, I picked up my order and noticed they were just starting to close up. I waited patiently and was informed it would take a bit longer as they were cooking fresh to order. I didn't mind the wait and appreciated their dedication to quality. The food exceeded my expectations in terms of portion size, with two generous tubs of curry and a side of rice. While the curry was hot and comforting, it lacked a bit of flavor and spice. Overall, I found the meal to be satisfying, and I appreciated the generosity in portion size. I would be interested in trying other curries to see if the flavor profile improves. Although I don't foresee returning to Burns anytime soon, I had a positive experience at the restaurant.
I had the vege curry and drunken noodle with beef and they were excellent! Nice big spring rolls that were fried to perfection. Honestly i feel like this place is a gem. FYI it’s a one cook operation so expect a wait, and they don’t take Debit or Credit. Service: Take out Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $10–20
The only reason I left one star is because I couldn’t leave a negative number. My husband and I stopped here for lunch as we were traveling through. The place is shabby, cold, and unwelcoming. The restrooms are a horror and the food was inedible. My husband took a bite of what tasted like a rotten tomato and we both stood up and walked out after leaving cash. The restaurant only accepts cash and local checks. Travelers beware. I don’t know who could have left the other favorable reviews. We went to Safeway to get some food.
