The ambience and decor are fantastic! The crispy pork belly dish is hands down the best I have ever had. The skin is actually crispy on every piece, unlike other places that claim the same and end up with soggy skin. The chicken satay sticks were delicious, and I even tried my friend's green curry which was wonderfully flavorful. Another friend ordered the lamb shanks, which I also tried and found them to be divine - they fell apart and melted in my mouth! This is my go-to Thai restaurant, I will definitely be coming back again.
When visiting Thai restaurants, it's common to encounter cramped and small spaces where you might have to share a small table. However, if you're looking for a larger, more spacious and comfortable dining experience, look no further. This restaurant offers ample room, making it perfect for events like western-style engagements or weddings (even though they don't actually host weddings or engagements here). During our visit, a group of five of us enjoyed our meals, all feeling full and satisfied. The staff were accommodating and friendly, willing to customize dishes or ingredients for us due to dietary restrictions during the Lent season. What sets this Thai restaurant apart from others is the delicious and fresh food. Our dishes included Curry Puffs, Spring Rolls, Chilli Basil Fried Rice, Pineapple Fried Rice, and Pad See Ew, all of which were enjoyed by everyone in our group. One small critique would be that the Chilli Basil Fried Rice could use a bit more spice. The presentation of the food was excellent, and generous portions were served. The restaurant itself is comfortable to dine in, with plenty of space, decent-sized seating, and tables that allow for easy conversation without having to shout over the noise. The ambiance is great, with background music at a low volume, creating a pleasant atmosphere for dining. In terms of value, the prices are in line with other Thai eateries. Some recommendations for the restaurant include changing the lounge seating to chairs for added comfort, making the Chilli Basil Fried Rice spicier, and adding more vegetarian entree options to the menu. It had been about 3 years since I last came here and I have to say the place does not disappoint. Ambiance is great and the food is truly spectacular. We had the prawn cakes as entries... outstanding!! Full of prawn flavor. My main, the seafood hot pot was just perfect with steam rice... bought my own wine in. A def place to go again again
We've been coming to Chilli Jam since it opened, 10 years ago. Every meal is highly anticipated and each time we are rewarded with delicious flavours and fragrances. The decor is funky and there are even hints from the Chinese restaurant that used to be in this location. That said, the seating is uncomfortable (heavy and low wooden chairs, albeit with plenty of cushions) and can be awkward at times. Service is always warm and friendly, even on busy nights. Highly recommended.
