We initially underestimated how many pancakes, sauce, cucumber, and shallots we would need with the duck, so we ended up spending more money to get extra. While the restaurant's presentation and menu design were nothing special, the friendly service and incredible food more than made up for any shortcomings in decor.
My Go To Place for Peking Duck in Chinese New Year, the hidden gem for one of the Best Peking Duck in Sydney (or NSW). The place does not look like it opens, but enter the door, as long as the OPEN sign is on. Do not expect fancy venue, fancy food nor fancy treatment. You shall be greeted with its honest owner, David, whom speaks fluent English as well as Mandarin. A few useful tips: 1. Please order your duck 24-48 hours prior to dine in. 2. You are expected to come on time. 3. If you are late and not letting them know, your duck may be given away to another table. Good Value for Money, their ducks do not smell like any other ducks and instead of San Choy Bau or Noodles, they make the 2nd course as duck soup, which is healthier and refreshing.
If you are of Asian descent, this restaurant is likely the best value for your money and has the best Peking duck and sides. However, if you are not Asian, you may perceive it as a lower quality establishment because it does not offer dishes like sweet and sour pork or honey chicken. Overall, I highly recommend it.
Overall, this place has really good quality Peking roast duck, and the pancake wrappers are awesome. You can have a plate of the duck bones with the remaining meat carved up and served on a plate, take the bones home for more soup, or have soup made to drink at the end of the meal.
