Visited before, but surprised this time to find they had run out of real ale

Lovely pub near the Anderton Lift! While moored up for the night we walked over and enjoyed the warmth of both the building and friendly staff. The food was quite delicious and drinks cold. Met with other boaters here and was made to feel so very welcome, ordered food which came quickly (gorgeous lamb). Only downside was a lack of cask ales but after the heatwave who can blame people for rushing to have some! Price per person: £20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Absolutely loved our visit! Food was delicious and plentiful. Very reasonably priced and served in quick shape time. The landlady welcomed us like we were old friends and made my whole family feel at home. Would definitely come back when we are next in the area and 110% recommend for everyone to visit this gem of a pub! Kid-friendliness: Welcomed them whole heartedly and made them feel part of the family at the pub. Price per person: £10–20
