Older Pilot, could use a remodeling. But has a nice staff, clean showers. Extremely busy location, so drivers if you need to park overnight, better get here early. By 5 central time it's already full.
This is not a great place to visit. It's essential to stay alert and aware of your surroundings. If you're not driving a big rig, there’s really not much to offer here. It feels like a legal front for something unsavory. The environment is dirty and unpleasant, and there seems to be a lack of respect for decency. The Bible stand is crammed into a dark, unclean corner near the bathroom door. Prices are extremely inflated, and the place looks as if it has been rummaged through. There are also random women walking around the truck parking area, which adds to the discomfort. If you're looking for better options, there's a new QT across the interstate and a Buc-ee's just down the road.
I give this place a one-star rating due to my experience with Southern Tire Mart at the pilot location. They quoted me a price for tires, but after they installed the new retread tires, I found out there was a nearly $60 difference in the price. Their explanation was that the retread tire they quoted me was out of stock, but this is something that should be discussed before mounting the tires, not afterwards. They made no effort to resolve the issue. Tyler and his manager, Brandon (or Brad, I'm not sure of his name), tried to charge me for a mistake they made and were rude about it, as if I was the problem. I invest a good amount of money to keep my truck running, but I wouldn't return here unless I dealt with different staff who understand customer service. The mechanic, however, was great.
I visited the shop to have a tire checked, and the guy with long hair told me to wait in the office after they pulled the tire out. Just a minute later, they ended up making a hole in the sidewall of the tire, which is unacceptable. They patched it up and tried to convince me that I had been driving for six months with this patch on the side of my tire. Don’t trust them! Make sure to stay nearby while they’re working on your tire.
