La Cave a Huitres - Caen

A small cozy eatery for oysters and little else. If you do not plan to eat oysters, do suggest you turn your attention elsewhere. But if you are looking for a convenient spot for fresh and lovely oysters, this is the place to be. Their lunch sets are an extreme bargain with offers of both fresh and grilled oysters available, for when oyster lovers also seeking a bit of warmth from their food. The grilled oysters are in no way dry and over grilled so fear not. Very efficient and helpful staff but be warned; their indoor sitting is extremely limited. Either book a table or walk in early if you want to make sure you can get a table.

Cute little place with amazing fresh seafood and a nice selection of wines to go with it. Service was good, however those oysters were the real star! Different calibres and served fresh or cooked. Didn't dig into the whole lobster/shrimp platter but it looked delicious and the other guests seemed to be enjoying it.

Spinti dalle recensioni abbiamo deciso di pranzare in questo piccolo ristorantino in zona porto.Visto che stavamo visitando la città in mattinata, siamo passati verso le 11 per prenotare un tavolo, ma niente da fare, ci hanno detto che non accettano prenotazioni. Ad ogni modo quando siamo tornati sulle 12.30 non c'era tantissima gente, e abbiamo trovato subito da sedere. Il posto presenta un menù centrato ovviamente sulle ostriche, ma con la possibilità di scegliere altri crostacei. Le ostriche vengono vendute a diversi prezzi a seconda della taglia, e comunque a prezzi davvero concorrenziali, assolutamente non paragonabili all'Italia. Alla fine abbiamo optato per un menù "gran piatto" misto: un tripudio di ostriche, scampi, chiocciole di mare (non le avevo mai mangiate, mi sono piaciute!), un grande granchio già tagliato a metà, gamberoni... Avevamo pensato di assaggiare anche le ostriche cotte, ma alla fine non avevamo davvero più la forza di andare oltre. Il tutto con un bicchiere di vino a testa e una bottiglia d'acqua. Totale: 22 euro a testa... A quel costo a volte non mangi nemmeno in pizzeria... Unica pecca, i due proprietari parlano davvero poco l'inglese, ma non è stato un problema. Altra cosa da notare, il posto è piccolo, i coperti non sono tanti quindi il locale si riempie facilmente. E i tavoli non sono molto distanti tra di loro, ma questa è la norma nei locali del genere.

Très bonne surprise lors d'une visite éclair à Caen. Les fruits de mer sont De hautes qualité. Le service excellent. Le choix peut être un peu réduit mais peu importe.
