Friendly service. Clean and welcoming. Good selection of Eastern European foods. The shop sells hotdogs in crusty rolls. Worth a go.
Friday night dinner, Hake perfectly cooked homemade tartare sauce, wonderful chips and calamari as good as you get, then homemade apple pie to top it off, best value we have had this year, in a relaxed atmosphere
Last Sunday 6 of us went for Lunch to The Hungry Monk It was not too big so getting table for 6 was easy 4of us went for Beef one for Fish and one had Lamb. Service was quick and our Dinners arrived well stacked plenty of veg gravy and roast potatoes..and lovely homemade horse radish sauce plus mint sauce. Desserts were so tempting Apple Crumble pouring Custard/Ice Cream and two had Tiramisu. We finished with Coffee and were just packed full. We would really recommend a visit and coming up to Christmas outside catering will be looked after so having a house party you can get your catering done here.
We where her on Thursday eve and we have been to the bistro many times before. The food was good but its been better. Maybe they had a busy day or chef was off but the chips where not the best. Homemade which is great but half the plate was full of crispy burnt bits that where inedible. Plus it took almost 15 mins for our food order to be taken yet it wasent busy only 2 other tables. When I was there in the summer things where run alot better and more prompt. I hope things improve as it's lovely to see a business succeed in such a small town.
