Flynn’s Italian - Cairns City (QLD)

The appetizers and desserts at Flynn Italian restaurant were delicious, but the main courses fell short of expectations. Although my steak was cooked perfectly to medium rare and had exceptional taste, it was quite tough to chew. The ambiance was average with uncomfortable seating and low air conditioning. The view, however, was spectacular. The Italian music playing added to the atmosphere, but was a bit too loud. Service started off slow but improved as the night went on. Overall, the restaurant lacked an authentic Italian atmosphere apart from the music. We would rate Flynn Italian restaurant a 6 out of 10.

The greeting was really nice and warm. The hostess gave us free prosecco on arrival to congratulate us for our honeymoon. The waiter was very friendly and helpful. We liked the atmosphere as authentic Italian music was played in the background. Some things were disappointing. When the main thing came out, the duck risotto was very common and bland. The chocolate nravioli dessert was also very average. I couldn't eat it because it was very dry and not pleasant. The prawn linguini was fantastic. Another thing we were disappointed with was when we read the bill after the hostess had accused us of the so-called free prosecco! We couldn't believe it. We didn't know until we came back to the hotel so we couldn't question it. Overall, for the price we paid for food and beverages, it was an average experience.

The food and wine was nice, but I thought it was expensive for what you got. The restaurant was missing ambience. The staff was friendly and attentive.

The menu and food are not really Italian and the noise level is high. The waiters are also not very good.

The steak was cooked medium to medium well instead of medium rare, but everything else was great. The staff was pleasant and the ambience was nice. If the steak had been cooked properly, I would have been completely satisfied.
