The restaurant was moderately busy for the time of day, and I placed my order at the counter. Shortly after, my coffee was brought to me. However, I was a bit disappointed by the lack of friendly service - a smile or a simple greeting would have been appreciated. The location of the cafe is tucked behind the stage, in a side mall across from the entrance to the public toilets. Overall, I enjoyed my coffee and caught up on some current events. If I ever find myself in Cairns again, I may not choose to return to this cafe.
We met a business associate for a light lunch and were really disappointed. We had previously had good experiences at this restaurant, but unfortunately, the food was very average and not tasty. We ordered fries, but they were soggy and very undercooked. There were only a few fries on the plate, which was shared with another order. When we asked for another plate since the fries were bought as a side order, they did give us one. However, when the rest of our order was brought to us, we asked for the sandwich to be cut and the server sighed heavily before doing so. After cutting the sandwich, she left it on the table next to us. The service was just horrible and I was very surprised and disappointed. I don't think we will be returning to this restaurant in the future.
I originally intended to get a takeout, but when the live entertainment at Centrestage stopped, I decided to dine in instead. I ordered a chicken, cheese, and pineapple toasted sandwich, which was filled with generous chunks of chicken, melted cheese, and pieces of pineapple. All of the ingredients were hot and fresh from the grill. My tea came in a glass mug with hot water, allowing me to steep the tea leaves to my desired strength. To top it off, they included a mint chocolate as a nice touch, which melted in my mouth after enjoying my hot tea. Delicious!
We met a business associate for a light lunch and was really disappointed. Previously we had good experiences but unfortunately the food was very average. Not tasty. They now do fries. And it was a soggy and very under cooked fries. There would have been half a hand full ( 25) fries. Put on a plate with one of the other orders. We asked if they could give us another plate as they where bought as a side order. They did give us a plate. Then, the rest of the order was brought over and when asked if they could cut the sandwich , she sighed heavily and whilst she done it she then left the sandwich in the table next to us. The service was just horrible and I was just surprised and disappointed. So I don't think we will be back next time.
Great little cafe in Cairns Central behind centre stage. Good food, nice coffee and the staff are friendly. I also really enjoyed the red velvet slice.
