So many famous beloved Egyptian artists met there, the most famous writers and politicians met there in what was formerly called a cultural salon, where they held open discussions and interacting brainstorm sessions, even before we know them with this name! You can smell the story in place, with its unique decoration, in every corner. The staff is so nice and friendly. Food was also so good, very good prices. Another advantage, you can serve ice cold beer along. I strongly recommend visiting, mixing, eating there when it is not only historical, but well maintained with beautiful spirit.
It gives a classic vibe , the food is great , the crew are helpful.and cheerful, , the place has an amazing interior design, and the prices are moderate, but alcohol like anywhere in Egypt sucks big time
It's a unique place. Very historic with a lot of iconic old writers gathering there in the past. The place still has it's feel of old richness. It looks like s long train carriage in demensions. Waiters wear very traditional blue gold threaded gowns. They serve alcohol which is very unusual but common for downtown places like this and others that still exist since the hay day of downtown in the 20s-70s. They have an eclectic menu of home cooking and bbq items. Tried macaroni w bachamel sauce and dolma leaves. Both were good. It's a place where you come to study, chill or have an artistic meeting. Customers are much older and seem to be coming here for ages. The younger crowd is an eccentric one just from the look of them. I was neither not, just a passer by.
An authentic café with great service and service. Limited menu written in Arabic, French and English. Your food is tasteful. The waiters are always smiling, although the mask hides them.
Can't say enough about this place. If you come to Tahrir Square in downtown Cairo, this place is a must to eat here! Authentic Egyptian cuisine in a beautiful historical building. This place has been here for 100 years and can be here a 100 years later! From service to food, Cafe Riche is 5 stars!
