Hickory Shaft Bistro - Calabash

Staff was friendly and helpful. My wife and I have been here a couple of times and early on the service wasn't the best. But it seems they have addressed this. The food was good the first two times but better this last visit. There have been some changes in the menu that are much better. we ordered the wings... Best in the area! We also had the seafood pasta and it was very good and very reasonably priced. Pork nacho special was delicious. We will be back.

The restaurant was very busy, and the service was a bit slow. However, the food was fantastic! I tried the bang bang tacos, which were fresh and delicious. I was supposed to receive a side salad, but instead, I got rice. My friend ordered the same tacos, but he didn't receive either a salad or rice. The staff was really working hard despite the crowded conditions, and there wasn't much social distancing inside.

We had a wonderful experience at Hickory Shaft Bistro! The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the location was perfect for our golf group staying at the Brunswick Plantation golf condos. The restaurant is open Thursday to Sunday and offers a varied menu. Our group of 16 booked the private room, which was ideal for us since we were a bit noisy. Our server, Robin, was fantastic; she made sure all our needs were met, both for drinks and meals. She is truly an invaluable asset to the bistro!

The food was excellent, but I had to request our appetizer three times. It finally arrived after we had finished eating, and they still charged us for it. I didn't mind paying for it since we ended up eating it, but I was surprised because the server mentioned twice that she had forgotten to include it in the order. Otherwise, it would have definitely been a five-star experience.

Man o man. I was disappointed with everything......sorry. We ate dinner on Prime rib night and several of us got the prime rib.....mistake. I must say it was the toughest least flavorable I have ever had anywhere( and pretty costly too) Several guys tried other items such as: a basic cheese pizza and he didn't even eat it after 2 bites. Others talked about not enjoying their dinners. The service was ok except it was very slow and very little follow up. My suggestion: Eat somewhere else
