Mar-val Food Stores - Calaveras County

I picked up the tri-tip that was on sale today. I am recognizing Scott for his suggestion. The cut was amazing!

Ever since I was a little kid I've gotten bbq tri tips from out front of this store. After a long break, I came in, got one today. It was delicious. The guy on the bbq, Scott was really nice and did a great job on the bbq.

I shop here most of the time. It is convenient for me and I'm familiar with where things are. It is expensive though. Especially the meat. But everywhere is expensive now I suppose. Good variety of items.

Unfortunately only option in Valley Springs other than Grocery Outlet. Very, very pricey which is strange being in this neighborhood which is not by any stretch well off. And for paying these outrageous prices, clerks are not even friendly as another reviewer stated. Been to deli several times pay for a sandwich but don't even get a thank you!!! Not sure why management does not have this corrected. I waited at deli today for several minutes. Clerk did not even acknowledge me so I left! Guess they know we don't have options so don't bother to improve?

You know you've reached peak adulthood when you get excited parking and you see the tri tip being bbq out front!! Every since moving here Mar-Val is our go to store. All the cashiers are friendly! Regardless if you need produce, some sushi, a delicious sandwich or bread pudding you will find it there be greeted with a smile!
