They created a room for us outside because I was unable to get through to make a reservation. Our waiter could not have been nicer or more accommodating and spoke excellent English. You could say it was both locals and tourists I always like! The smoked salmon trench for one person, was a lot for two of us, the beef sandwich was beautiful and there were at least half a dozen wines through the glass. Nothing that would bang your socks, but delicious and good. We shared a 1/2 litre of Sangria, a glass of Doura red wine, smoked salmon appetizer, beef sandwich, 2 bacalhau (Ked) in pastries appetizers, dessert and coffee for 30 euros.
I always ate out here a few times and found it always very busy for lunch or dinner can be hard to find a table. Seafood is ready with dinner, but the staff found to be welcoming and helpful. Various Portuguese dishes, but also burgers, tapas and salads. The food was simple but well cooked, decent house wine and great selection of wines. I ate at various times Bitoque, Escabeshe shells and various Portuguese tapas. The restaurant has followed a strong local is worth reasonable prices and a visit.
It is also the name Casa Antero . It is a small restaurant, hidden in a side street. It has tapas (appearants), hamburgers, salads and the offer of the day (fish and meat). We had feijoada (a stew of beans with several kinds... of pork) and grilled tuna steak (they were the offer of the day). Simple food, but with quality and well cooked. For Dessert we had Quindim de coco, that was delicious. We asked for a glass of white wine that was very good (dry as we like it). Good quality/price ratio.
Small but very nice tapas bar! really liked the spicy mussels, nice warm bread and a good octopus tapas. Not too expensive, it was busy and they only have a few tables outside. But was worth it, will go back again this holiday
Love this little restaurant, the food is very tasty, great wines, good coffee, nice ambiance. It is small and busy, so be on time, or you have to be patient to sit down. There are a few tables outside. They have tapas, sandwiches, menu of...the day, great cheeses and tasty desserts. My favorite are the spicy mussels and the liver. It is nice that you can order wine by the glass. Good coffee and had a nice piece of lemon cake. Not too expensive, with the two of us we spent 23 euros, had 3 dishes, bread, wine, water, 2 coffee and 1 cake. Can definitely recommend, one of my favorite ones in Caldas!
