The White Lion - Calderdale

The bad reviews here are laughing. the white swan is a great, traditional pub that is very welcoming and cozy. If you want to pay Daft prices for minimal food on a slanted or a bit driftwood, then you look elsewhere. this pub is honest, warm and cozy. all they could want from a pub. lunch menu is also super worth. there aren't many pubs like this left, shaking it.

Glad the swan keeps resisting the floods. I cannot imagine the town without it. That said a step up is needed in its current condition. Food service is available and a good range of beer provides a nice enough pub environment, it is just let down a bit by it's aging decor and toilet facilities. The beer garden is still an excellent place to sit though and provides a good escape from the hustle and bustle of the main streets of the town.
