On a Saturday evening, I was disappointed to find that there was no red wine available at the restaurant. I was told that it had been sold out the night before due to a busy evening. While there was a good selection of spirits and lagers, there was no real beer to choose from. Despite this, the bar had pleasant surroundings.
My wife and I visited this restaurant as part of a Travelzoo deal, which only included one evening meal. It was a shame because the food was actually quite good. Our starters, fried brie and salmon fish cakes, took a while to arrive, and our main courses of salmon took even longer as we were initially served two chicken dishes. It seemed like either a mistake in the kitchen or the waitress was overwhelmed. Dessert also took a long time to come out, making the meal last over two hours. There were twelve diners in total, all of whom seemed frustrated by the slow service, although it wasn't the waitress's fault. Additionally, there was a shortage of drinks at the bar, with no gin available. These Travelzoo deals are meant to attract new customers, but this restaurant failed to impress and fell short. We are staying at the hotel for two nights, and I anticipate that my overall review won't be positive.
Pleasant little dining room with a bar, just off Horton Street, on the ground floor of the Imperial Crown Hotel. or course table d' hote menu; good wine list, attentive service.
Excellent food, service and beautiful decor. Nothing too much trouble for the two front of house staff members. We had a lovely Sunday lunch to celebrate our grandsons second birthday. Thank you.
