So when I learned Jerusalem Shawarma has four locations in Calgary, I'll admit to being skeptical about the quality and authenticity of the food.I am very impressed with everything on my first visit to the Macleod location. I ordered a mixed platter that had beef and chicken, and it came loaded with salad, roasted potatoes, a falafel, and a pita with hummus. Add on a drink and I paid under $20. Excellent value, and everything was incredibly tasty. Highly recommended!
The first time I tried the shop in Country Hills I was impressed. So I thought yesterday driving by I would try this new location. Glad I did. A regular beef donair was my choice. It was about $12 which I thought was a little pricy until the meat was added. Wow it was quite large felt like 2 pounds. Not sure the actual weight but it was plenty to eat for the money. I would definitely recommend this for a try.
The above quote from Iron Man has always made us want to try Shawarma. I've had in the past but it was time to try again. Jerusalem Shawarma opened a new location on MacLeod Trail so that was our destination for dinner tonight. My wife had the beef Shawarma and I had the chicken. The garlic sauce, hummus, pickled red cabbage, Tahini, and hot sauce perfectly complemented the seasoned and slow rotisserie cooked meat. Meat is fresh carved from the spit and kept hot on the grill while the the pita wrap is prepared. Delicious and very filling. Staff are friendly, fast and worked well together. The restaurant is clean and well maintained.
Wanted something fast but healthy and found this place. Decided to go for a chicken shawarma platter. Wow...a generous portion of food. Chicken came with rice, salad, hummus and garlic potatoes. Great decor and great food.
First time to this restaurant and pleasantly surprised. Huge serving!!! We ordered a beef and chicken shawarma and delicious roasted potatoes with garlic sauce on top also came with a pop to make it a combo. $33.56 for the two of us but we could have shared and been stuffed we each took 1|2 of our shawarma home for dinner. We have been looking for a place in the south that has great shawarma and we found it. Nice decor and pleasant servers. Quite a bit of parking. Only thing I felt was missing was the pickled beets. I'd also ask for more pickles on mine next time. We will be back
