My disappointment is Carbonara, which I recently ordered (only for a change most likely the worst... I had ever... (I will never try anything new here again, what a waste of . The same applies to the executive exchange to serve cold bread....How do you get on...!!! (You can't beat bread from the oven as it was before. Service usually quite good but and we go for the reasonable prices. Just find something you like and stay with it.
I started dining at Chianti's in Calgary 30 years ago. I remember going to their original location on 17th Ave S.W. when I was young and I've never forgotten it! I've since moved away but on a recent trip back home, I decided to take...my husband to Chianti's on MacLeod Trail. Every. single, bite. was as good/fabulous as I remembered it. From the moment we walked in the front door, the wonderful staff were happy, smiling and just couldn't do enough for us. But the food. Oh the food. I had to order all my favs from the past; their caesar salad and an amazing pasta creation that featured curry sauce and scallops the dish was heavenly. My husband decided to have the lasagne and the spaghetti bolognese and he was blown away. My hubby loves those two items and always seems to pick them whether we're in the Caribbean, Europe or anywhere in Canada. One bite out of both at Chianti's and he was raving. I asked for a sample and I have to admit, the depth of flavour in their sauces was outstanding. Our wonderful waitress Breelyn (hope I spelled that right) pointed out that we could also buy their famous sauce so that was a bonus! Excellent service, consistency, extremely tasty food and value Chianti's has it all. Thanks for being there all these years. You made this former Calgarian very happy!
We have not dined here for more than 8 weeks because of the recently lifted Covid restrictions. After sharing a Caesar Salad, my wife and I each ordered the Penne Campesi in curry sauce, and we each had our own individual variations, which our server...Spencer had no problem accommodating. This dish is very flavourful. Great service and my least expensive meal all week!
I tried the spinach fettuccine with artichokes and basil cream at this restaurant, and it was delicious! I will definitely be returning in the future.
It was a Thursday evening and the place was full of loud girls mostly young ladies who celebrate a little loud at a table). Our server had only been in the restaurant for two weeks and he was quite harassed in his efforts to get everyone... at his tables. First the hot meals we had ordered arrived BEFORE the Caesar Salat, which we planned to share. Then he brought us only half a caesar salad, so back to the kitchen for more. Then after we ate our salads, the hot food was brought to us. It seems that the canneloni I had ordered sat under the heat lamp all the time when we had blown our salads because the bechamel sauce was cured up into the tenderness of a plywood on the meal. I fought to drop half of it and then we left. Hopefully the next visit is better.
