Cuisine Cinnamon - Calgary

I have never has Sri Lankan food prior to visiting Cuisine Cinnamon. I am now a big fan. The kottu is delicious. And the prices are very reasonable. Our host also took time to explain our various options, suggested how we might modify based on our preferences. They have vegetarian options, gluten free options, and a kid's menu. We all left very happy.

Start your meal with the chicken rolls, so tasty, house wine goes well with it too!!!The presentation, the flavors and lots of fresh curry leaves. So many different spices, what a treat, but save room for dessert, as they have a pasty chef!!! The desserts are comfort food to the max!!! Enjoy as we will be going again. This was the first time I visited a Sri Lankan restaurant in Calgary and was pleased to find that they served several popular signature Sri Lankan dishes like egg hoppers, string hoppers, kothu, fish cutlets as well as desserts like Vattilappam, all served asthetically and accompanied by appropriate condiments.

Wow where to start. Ok well they serve Sri Lankan food and western type food. I went for the Shi Lankan food and was not surprised that the food was as good as I expected. The restaurant is located in a Forest Lawn strip mall. The place is super clean and is very upscale in appearance.The 3 owners are all formally trained chefs and you can really tell in the appearance of the plates and the taste.For those of you that aren't very adventurous they have a wide selection of western dishes from steak and chicken to basics like sandwiches.We had a wonderful rice dish wrapped in a banana leaf complete with a piece of chicken and a fish cutlet which was tuna. We started with chicken roll and roti and then a wonderful mutton did called Mutton Rottu. The flavours were just awesome. Not to spicy but not real plain either.The service was great. Gladston is the pastry chef and the wattalappen was great. Resembles a cream caramel but the syrup is devine.They have a Saturday buffet that you should come early to try. I will be a regular

We arrived just in time before the restaurant was about to close after picking up my husband from the airport. We were just looking to grab some dessert. Upon entering, we were warmly greeted.
