However, I was a bit disappointed with the Peking style roasted duck as it wasn't as good as I had hoped. The noodle dish was also lacking duck and was overly salty. Despite these shortcomings, I still consider this restaurant a good choice whenever I am in the mood for duck.
We recently enjoyed a satisfying take-out meal on a rainy evening in Calgary. The delivery arrived promptly and the food was delicious and warm. I was pleasantly surprised that they were able to fulfill my request for a dish of steamed vegetables with prawns and scallops, which was both simple and tasty. Don't hesitate to ask for healthier options, as they are able to accommodate special requests.
This restaurant is great for when you need a fast meal. Don't expect it to be authentic Chinese food, but it's perfect for a quick bite. I recommend getting the special noodles, ginger beef, sweet and sour pork, steamed rice (avoid the fried), dumplings (ask for them to be pan fried), and wor wonton if you're dining with a family of five. We always clean our plates!
Have been looking for a new favourite Chinese food Restaurant in the SW, and this may be our place. Recently ordered a large selection of items: pineapple sweet and sour pork, salt and pepper squid, wor wonton soup, chow mein, chicken fried rice, spring rolls, chicken in black bean sauce, beef with vegetables, and more. Everything was hot temperature, and as it should be: the squid was crispy, the wor wonton full of vegetables, and the vegetables were fresh. Servings were fair for the price. When I called the order in, the gentleman on the phone was very helpful to discuss crispy vs non- crispy chow mein. Of all of our dishes the chicken chow mein may have been the only one we would have changed - we ordered 'soft' but next time will try their crispy / albeit 'fried' chow mein version.Lots of noodles though. The man was also very accommodating when I asked to have one dish not as spicy as listed in the menu. Picking up the order, the woman at the counter was very pleasant and helped me with my food to my car. If the food stays consistent to our first order, its our new 'go to' in our neighborhood. Take out and delivery only. A bit tricky to find as its hidden from the road on a hilled parking lot/ ask for directions when you order. A "Readers Choice" restaurant and 2 locations in town.
Used to love the food from here. We would order it once a week. Haven't ordered in about a year (new twins no time or money). Ordered about $50.00 worth of food and had to throw it out it was so bad. The manager said it's a new chef then hung up on me. If you have ever loved the food from the old Banff coach location I urge you to remember how good it used to be, and leave it at that. The sweet and sour sauce is like red water now and the vegetable chow mein came with one piece of broccoli. Couldn't even chew the ginger beef enough to be able to swallow it.
