Gold Bistro Chinese Restaurant

I've eaten here several times before, with yesterday being the most recent time, and the food has always been good.

Tucked away in a small strip mall is another one of those hidden gems! There are at least 3 other Chinese places within a stone's throw of this place, but

Nice fresh buffet selection. Friendly efficient staff. Clean restroom. Easy to get to and lots of parking.

We booked tables for 13 people for the buffet. The food was fresh - really fresh. The assortment was fantastic- I ate too much. The server worked hard to set up tables and had our plates cleared consistently. What impressed me was the broccoli- as strange as that sounds - it was perfect - not soggy or overcooked- but bright green, crisp and favourful. Will definitely be going back again! Oh, I forgot - there was ice cream and jello for dessert. I had no room left to eat another bite, but my kids were thrilled!

Our favourite, "Sun Island Eatery" is closed on Tuesdays so we thought we would give this a try. Dinner for two w/ Squid was $50.00. No problem, except the containers were the size of soup cans and the quality was extremely poor. I couldn't even eat the pork as it was beyond greasy and the squid was barely cooked and literally smelled like bleach. Really poor quality overall and overly priced for sure. I wouldn't even think of a giving this a second chance. I threw the majority of this in the garbage where it belonged. Sorry Gold Bistro in Sundance Sun Island is King! Folks, don't waste your money on Gold Bistro!
