OMG - knowing what it is like, my stomach was wanting to know if my throat had been cut because nothing was coming down! Even if you are not vegetarian you HAVE to try the Gado Gado - the peanut sauce will transport you to HEAVEN!!You order and pick a table and it is served when ready. It's the BEST Indonesian food outside home cooked.
Tried this place out for a weekend lunch. Excellent variety of meal choices and more than enough on the plate. Very fresh ingredients. It can be a bit tough to find as it's not obvious from the outside. It's inside the building where the Farmers Market is. Recommend this place. It was very popular and filled quite quickly. Don't let the casual atmosphere fool you in regards to the quality!
Kaffir Lime is a small food stand tucked away in the corner at the McLeod Market (in Kingsland). Their exotic Indonesian dishes are amazing. Peanut sauces combined with rice and vegetables make this a delicacy.
Anytime I come to the Kingsland Farmers Market I plan lunch at Kaffir Lime. I haven't found many places for Indonesian food in Calgary and this is a great find :-). The food is fresh and generous servings. I usually ask for the daily special or the most favourite dishes that other customers order. Good for vegetarians as well!
One of the most delicious curries I've had in Calgary. Head into the farmer's Market on Mcleod and give this man your damn money. I find sitting down and eating is better quality than the take-out.
