Myhre's Deli - Calgary

This restaurant serves the best smoked meat sandwiches outside of Montreal. My wife and I never hesitate to make the drive from Canmore to Calgary once a month just to enjoy them.

My husband loves Montreal smoked meat sandwiches and we are always looking for a Calgary restaurant that serves them. Located in a historic building, the hotel reminded me of some delis we visited in New York. Small and picturesque with a few stands and a lot of character. The sandwiches were great and we loved the house mix Senf. Good pickles and beautiful Koleslaw. We ordered a page of Fritten that we enjoyed. Serve was quick and friendly. We're going back!

Montreal smoked meat is my guilty pleasure, and it's not easy to find in Calgary. I stumbled upon this place after searching for it on TripAdvisor and immediately went there. It's a small hole in the wall with nice decorations. The server was quick and professional. I didn't need to look at the menu much – I simply chose my size, mustard, and side dish. I ordered the executive sandwich, which was huge and absolutely perfect. The rye bread was nicely browned, the meat was fatty and delicious, and the mustard was just right. This was the best Montreal smoked meat I've had in Calgary. The only distraction was the automatic French fry machine that kept churning out delicious fries every 3 minutes – mesmerizing! I will definitely be back and highly recommend this place.

Exceptional dining experience. My wife and I stopped by for lunch today and were blown away by the Montreal smoked meat sandwich - it's the best I've had since visiting Montreal. The owner, Brad, was incredibly hospitable and his staff were excellent too. We can't wait to return with friends soon!
