Their cakes are exquisite and very much what we purchase for special occasions such as Mother's Day, NYE and birthdays. I brought their macaroons to the ICU staff when my mother was in hospital and they had never had anything like them. We had them cater a Christmas party with their petite sandwiches and quiche - amazing! We always make an effort to visit this shop - their craftsmanship and service is wonderful!
Ohh La La was the first place that came to mind when I needed a special cake for a milestone birthday. I’ve visited them many times for their sweet treats, so I knew that they would deliver a fabulous cake. And they did! The Chocolate Trio was wonderfully rich and very chocolatey. Everyone enjoyed it. I would definitely use Ohh La La again for a special occasion cake. I also may have acquired a dangerous addiction to their hazelnut macarons, and the dulce de leche croissants, and of course the pain au chocolat…
Was brought to this little patisserie, had the maple croissants and macarons. The maple croissants were very good, and very sticky. My first time trying macarons, they were very good, have a lot of flavor, but were not what I expected. I would go again.
What a find! Such a gem in a little strip mall in SW Calgary. I visited yesterday and was delighted to taste the chocolate croissants and macaroons. They melt in your mouth. I found out the owner/chef was from Argentina and immigrated to Canada a few years ago. Our good luck! While not a large showroom, what was on display was truly a treat. Get there early on the weekends to get the best choice. Looking forward to going back again soon.
I have to start by saying that I am not a bread lover. That out of the way, I am quite seriously transported to some magical place every time I bite into one of Sebastian's croissants! It doesn't matter which "flavour", plain butter croissants that are intended for marmalade topping, but never seem to last long enough to get the marmalade jar open; chocolate croissants that are a spot of heaven; almond - addicting. I haven't tried the maple yet - I'm not really a maple-lover either - but the rest are so delicious that I will break down soon. Today I tried the orange cranberry scone. Again, the only real comment is a totally happy and ultimately satisfying "wow". I'm downright afraid to try the unbelievably beautiful cakes! I'd weigh 500 lbs in no time!Thank you for choosing my neighbourhood!
