The entrance door handles and glass are slick with food and fingerprints, broken railing out front, all table tops inside and outside are visibly dirty and sticky, every item on the cutlery counter was so very dirty (crumpled dirty napkin under the prongs of the 'clean' forks, filthy napkin dispenser), my mom stuck to the banquette seat, there was a film of flour covering the order counter (got all over my purse), junk and mess on every surface behind the counter, there were unfolded take-out boxes on three of the few tables. And don't even get me started on the floor! The somewhat angry young lad making the pizza used his gloved pizza-making hand to also work the till buttons, most the young staff seemed unfriendly- no mature adult in sight... Sad really. It started off so great! Nice design, great pizza, adult beverages, art for sale... Great concept. Needs a boss to run it properly!PS- I am not a neat freak, but this was really bad.
We had heard from friends who is celiac that this was a gem of a spot so we gave it a try for lunch and would have to agree. Hubby is celiac but they have gluten free crust which is always a bonus! He had Hawaiian, I had the Thai Chicken and our niece had just pepperoni and we all enjoyed our choices! I am for sure going back and will definitely try the Monday night special night as you cannot go wrong with that price! If you like flat bread pizza you will like this place and the prices were reasonable!
I'd have to disagree with the only other review for ripe tomato. We eat here on average once a week and love the pizza! The Thai chicken is delicious, as is the calabrese and the dolce e picante. They have great special nights (margarita Monday, kids eat free Tuesday) but the regular prices are still very reasonable. They are also licensed so it's fast food with a difference! The weathers been so great this November I even sat on the patio for lunch this week. It's awesome!
New restaurant within walking distance of my house so was excited to try. Tried a deluxe and Thai chicken. Both had to be eaten with a fork and knife as they were soggy. Toppings were fresh and tasty which was the fortunate. Some staff were helpful others didn't know how to smile. I would discribe this restaurant as shopping mall food served on the street. Save your money as their are better choices at a lessor price. Unfortunately this ripe tomato will wither on the vine and be gone by spring.
"This pizza place in the 15 is rather disappointing. Located on the 4th floor of the Holt Renfrew building, the concept is promising but the execution falls short."
