Contribuisci feedbackIn the past few years, I have been expose to different Filipino cuisines by my co-workers. I love everything I have tried so far. So, after work on Friday, my co-worker and I stopped by Rolymie Bakery Restaurant in Whitehorn to grab dinner to go since I had to help her with something afterwards. This place is surprisingly easy to get to. Located just off 52nd Street on Whitehorn Drive, this little place is a the middle of a busy strip mall. We were having trouble finding a spot to park. People kept coming in to pick up their pre-orders and dinner. They do have seating. I think you order what you want at the counter, and then go and pick your seat. It looks like this bakery restaurant specializes in baked goods, party trays, and lechon (roasted pig). If you want something special, they recommend you pre-ordering it so they will have it ready for you for pick up. I think this is true for most Filipino restaurants if you want a specialty, like crispy pata. I want to try crispy pata!
One of the best! if not the best.. Lechon (Roasted Pig) is my favorite filipino food. And the best lechon is right here Rolymie.
Yankee likes Rolymie Filipino bakery. Stopped in as near to my apt. and wow was it good. I had some kind of roast pork and pork blood stew. Also some type of fritter or pancake made of bean sprouts and other vegetables. Would have been nice to have placards over the items on steam table and hotbox telling in english and Tagolog what it was as the counter person was hard to understand. Overall it was great and I will be back for sure.
The best lechon in town, a bold statement, but perfectly executed, the food tingles the taste buds like tinkerbell 's dust. The recipe of ethnic Filipino foods, expertise in the tools of the kitchen, and that smile that greets you as soon as you walk in that door makes you feel at home, really at home. The name alone has stand the test of time, people might pull them down as they go up the food chain (a part of this crab mentality), but look, they are still running. Thats why the word 'best ' is utilized on their slogan, because they simply are. Not many people can live up to that. The way I see it? They are a group of people who knows their way around the kitchen, the way around peoples hearts, and their food? Comfort authentic Filipino food, especially their lechon, it 's no wonder, they serve 'the best lechon in town '! More power to rolymie.
