Sushi Ginza - Calgary

One rainy evening in SE Calgary, my son and I had a hankering for sushi. We have been here before and loved it, but not the better part of a year.We both like the floating sushi bar, but find that sitting by these little boats with lots of desirable sushi is way too tempting and we end up eating way too much.So, we asked for a table and ordered out green tea (you have to have green tea when you eat sushi, it is a food law, I think). We ordered a Ginza boat deluxe with soup, salad and a combination of sushi, sashimi and rolls. It is supposed to be for two, but, boy, is it a lot of food. Like fools, we also ordered a tuna tataki appetizer (seared tuna sliced thin and served with a vinegar sauce and sliced radish) and two sockeye salmon sushi. I said that it missed 5 stars and here is why. I found the tuna sushi and the sockeye salmon sushi to be a little mushy, maybe because we were there on a Monday and their fish wasn't as fresh as it could be?Service was fine, the food was good and the price was in line with sushi places in town. Bill total, before tip, was $87.

Enjoyed a very good lunch with my daughter today. The bento box is great value for money, the food is very tasty and the service great.

Stopped in for a quick bite. Sushi bar was a floating sushi bar. Great to be able to pick what you want with little wait. Constantly being made fresh. Look forward to coming back with friends and family.

Incredible food, great selection, the service was amazing, the facility was clean, all the staff were friendly, we felt so welcome as soon as we entered the restaurant. Highly recommended to anyone looking for good fresh sushi with a variation of flavours! The prices were fair - maybe on the higher end of things, but we had a 3 course meal and drinks as well, so we didn't have anything to complain about. Left feeling incredibly satisfied. CANNOT WAIT to go eat here again. We will certainly be regulars when we go into the city!

Great atmosphere. Love sitting at the sushi bar. Service is friendly and good. They also have some great non sushi items if you are dining with someone who is not keen on sushi.
