La Galera - Callejón de los Chivos

Super nice service. The owners and managers were involved in the restaurant, and we had a bunch of people come over and greet us. They had a great band which added to the ambiance, and the food was very good. Great place.

La Galera is a cute little restaurant in the historical area of the walled city. The food was amazing! The menu is 3/4 tapas and 1/4 regular meals. We visited there 6 times in the 5 weeks we were in the town. The food is...master chef quality. A little spendy but not bad and well worth the money. The service was also top notch. I would highly recommend this restaurant to any one.

Very nice place, good food, not the lowest prices in town for sure. It has a very nice ambiance to enjoy the food and wine, talk and even to get to know other people having dinner. I did not get a waiter but the owner...himself to talk about the wine list and menu. I went for the degustation of five dishes, tapas size. Amongst others, I was very surprised with the excellent cochinillo (boneless sucking pig), kind of a new way of doing the traditional Segovian dish. He did the wine pairing which I really enjoyed very much. It was Saturday night, so there was a piano player and a singer. Old and well-known Cuban songs. Not very loud, pleasant to listen or as background for conversation. The only thing that I would improve is the wine list with a wider offer of crianzas and reservas from Spain, particularly from better-known regions. In overall, I really enjoyed the experience. For lunch, I went again to have the cochinillo as main course.

I had a bad experience at this restaurant; both the appetizer and entree were dry and salty. The fish that I had seemed thawed and chewy, this is a sea port where you are supposed to get fresh fish. Service was good but for the...quality, expensive.
