Fiiomeno - Calumet-Norvelt

This was the highlight of my trip to DC. After getting about 4 recommendations from friends in Florida that said this was a not to miss restaurant we almost missed it. I didn’t make reservations in time but somehow lucked out on a Thursday afternoon walk-in. They were so accommodating and friendly. The atmosphere is so interesting and fun. To start the bread basket of overflowing and all the types of bread were fresh and amazing served with fresh olive oil and spices for dipping. We ordered the Caesar Salad, Rigatoni Polo Vodka, Lasagna, and the Misto de mare allla Filomena. It was one of if not the best meal of my life. My husband and I shared the salad and Misto Filomena. It was so big we still took home half. The pasta was so fresh. We asked for a vodka sauce and it was incredible. I highly recommend that sauce with the seafood btw. My daughter had the Rigatoni and my son-in-law had the lasagna and we all had to try each others because we kept raving how good they all were. For dessert we shared the tiramisu and cannoli which was so different and delicious. All I can say is I’m back in Florida one week and have done nothing but crave this amazing food. Make your reservation early and you won’t regret it!!! Service was outstanding also!

Absolutely fantastic!! Excellent old-style Italian!! The pasta in vodka sauce was outstanding, as was my clams in a white wine sauce (with lots of garlic! Their Sunday sauce is fabulous any day of the week!! WE will be back!! Bueno!!

We enjoyed our experience there. It is extremely crowded and busy and decor is lively all of this is nice for a nice dinner, but it’s not quiet or intimate. The portions are large so sharing is totally possible here. Our service was quick and efficient and fine. Overall, good place. Would I go back? As a tourist I don’t think so it feels like a place that is good to know and food is good but the crowded nature reminded me a lot of chains where there is a lot of people all around you. Do i think you should check out yes if you love Italian food : Def make a reservation. If i lived in DC it would be a place I might take visitors craving Italian. Enjoy! Not really classy Italian food. Plates are too big and expensive comparing to the quality. The good think, if you make reservation you won’t have to wait long, and the service was great.

This restaurant was fantastic. The food was delicious. The service, superb. Nico was excellent, top notch. No one rushed us. The timing was perfect. The restaurant was decorated for Halloween and they do it up right! Something to see everywhere you looked. I loved everything about our night. It was perfect.
